The day began at 5am as Blair continued his visit to the office of John McCain. Meanwhile at 2pm in Mesa, President Bush arrived to speak to the Silverado Cable Co. The location of his speech was changed at the last minute due to lack of interest in the $25,000 a plate fundraiser for Presidential hopeful John McCain. Bush was greeted by 400 anti-war protesters and activists for 9/11 Truth. The police state was in full effect as the police videotaped activists exercising their first amendment rights. At 4pm a larger anti-Bush/McCain protest formed in downtown Phoenix at City Hall, followed by a march through the streets of Phoenix. Fortunately Blair was able to speak with a local television station to make his case for 9/11 issues. It was obvious the media would not come to Blair, so we took Blair to the media. At 7pm we went back to McCain's office and were joined by three members of Code Pink who gave Blair their support and well wishes. Temperatures reached 101F, but it’s a dry heat in Arizona. Blair is logging and maintaining his hydration. Traffic crews were out on 16th Street today diverting traffic into one lane which forced drivers to drive slowly past us for hours. We received about 15:1 ratio of well wishers for every negative gesture giving us a great emotional lift all day long. This is an amazing increase in the ratio from what we experienced 6 months ago with our street actions. Also of note, Blair is getting somewhat of a following from the folks that drive-by each day and live near McCain’s office, including lots of honking and yells of support. This is terrific stuff which I hope all of our supporters can envision and appreciate. We can also report that we noticed our first official surveillance vehicle that seemingly tried to be covert, but was easy for us to spot simply because we are now quite familiar with our surroundings. We eventually approached the unmarked car and were met by a uniformed officer, badge ID – Montoya. Blair continues his hunger strike for truth in front of McCain's office despite being ignored by the MSM. However, the alternative media has shown a significant interest in his efforts. These types of visits are empowering as it gives him a boost of energy and hope that people are supporting his efforts. He is quickly making friends with people who drive by on a daily basis and it's not uncommon for some to stop and talk. \n\n\nHello Everyone. Today is DAY 5 of the fast and another good day for\nBlair! As you can see from the attached photo, he's still on his feet\nand feeling fine! While we were visiting him today at lunch, he handed\nout brochures to motorists who pulled up to the curb, and he had a\ncouple of conversations with pedestrians who stopped to inquire.\nFriends Larry and John are spending the day with Blair again and nagging\nhim to drink. This is an amazing ratio from what we experienced 6 months ago with our street actions. Also of note, Blair is getting somewhat of a “cult following” from those folks that drive-by and live near McCain’s office each day including honked horns and yells of support. This is terrific stuff that I hope all of our supporters can envision and appreciate. We also can report that we noticed our first official surveillance vehicle that seemingly tried to be covert, but was easy for us to spot simply because we are now quite familiar with our surroundings. We eventually approached the unmarked car and were met by a uniformed officer, badge ID – Montoya. We have a doctor’s appointment scheduled for next Tuesday (Day 9) to thoroughly examine Blair and give him approval to continue. Day 8 of Blair Gadsby's hunger strike for 9/11 Truth was met with opposition and a written response from the office of U.S. Senator John McCain. Blair was approached by the property manager at McCain's office and a Phoenix police officer and was told to remove his signs, stating that he was on private property. Numerous signs and banners have been surrounding Blair during his hunger strike to add to the visual affect. Wanting to comply with the law we had no choice but to remove the signs and now he has only what he can physically hold. Later in the day Blair made yet another visit inside the office to hand deliver a request to meet with Senator McCain. At this moment Blair was handed a written response to his request that stated the Senator's schedule would not permit him to meet with you at this time. If you notice the date on the letter, May 30th !! Seeing a hard copy of the paper this morning gave Blair a big boost of energy. KTVK Channel 3 sent out a camera man this morning and interviewed Blair. Blair is committed to seeing this thing through and will not compromise his request of two hours of McCains time. Good weather permitting a plane is scheduled to toe a 35 foot banner on friday between 5pm and 7pm, a rally of the movement here in Phoenix has been set for that time in front of McCain's office. The banner will read "Google Hunger Strike for 911 Truth" the plane will be over McCains office around 5pm for 15 to 20 minutes and then fly all over the valley. Blair clearly communicated that John McCain has endorsed and written the Foreword to a Book called “Debunking 9/11 Myths”. Blair explained that it is his belief that John McCain either knows that 9/11 was an inside job, or that he has been lied to about the evidence supporting the 9/11 Commission Report. Blair stated that he wanted a 2 hour meeting commitment some time in the future to meet with John McCain to present our side’s questions to the issue of 9/11 Truth. He stated that he had never seen this footage, and when asked later what his thoughts and reaction to seeing the footage of the building collapse, he then stated “it is interesting”. He also asked us directly – “What was in building 7?” We of course answered the SEC, FBI, Secret Service, Gulliani’s Protective Bunker etc.\n\nMr. Hickman assured us that he would brief John McCain on our Hunger Strike, on the information that we had provided him including the WTC7 videos of the buildings collapse. We followed up by saying that time is of the essence, that our friend Blair was weakening and that a response today, tomorrow or Sunday would be preferable. We do not want Blair to tax his system any further. Mr. Hickman nodded in agreement that he understood. \n\nPlease keep Blair in your constant thoughts and prayers. He was visibly weakened as we left the office. It was 101 degrees in Phoenix today, and I can assure everyone that it was hot!! Blair is doing very well. He has lost 17 pounds total but still insists he's fine. As he says, he's not running any races, but he's still walking and conversing with all who come to see him. We had a lively discussion on theology for about an hour while I was there. Blair is as sharp as a tack and eager to debate!\n\nToday a couple who live in San Diego drove to Phoenix on their way to the Grand Canyon and stopped to say hi to Blair. We all thought that was pretty nice of them. The reason given for the collapse was "thermal expansion", a previously unknown phenomenon in building construction. This claim is equally preposterous as much of the Popular Mechanics accounting of the events of Sept.11 and upon which this entire protest effort was based...with John McCain's endorsement, of course. \n\nI would refer you to "Architects, Engineers, and Scientists Analyze Failings of NIST's WTC 7 Final Report" \nat http://www.ae911truth.org/info/37.\n\nEven as a non-specialist in building science, it is evident NIST is not being truthful. When asked about other possibilities such as explosives, the speaker, Dr. Sunder, said they did not explore the possibility because it would have been too big an effort requiring too many explosives implying someone would have noticed that taking place. In other words, they ruled it out completely first, then they proceed to explain what we see through computer images and mathematical calculations. Given the amount of press coverage, good or bad, generated from his hunger strike, the fantastic speech by Senator Johnson on the floor of the Arizona Senate and the apparent lack of concern by Senator McCain. Blair has decided that 17 days was enough. What better day than the 11th of the month? He has asked the staff of Senator McCain to forward any response from him to Blair's home address. What started out as an individual, sitting in a lawn chair, seeking a response from his elected representative in Washington D.C. ended with a positive response, not from the elected senator and not just from people in Phoenix, but from all over the world. People everywhere are hungry for the truth, and they are tired of being lied to. Email came from all over the country and globe. The people know about 9/11. The spell is wearing off. We may still be a silent majority, but we know. If anything is learned from this, it is the historical fact that one individual can make a difference and a contribution to better their city, their state and their world. From Blair Gadsby:\n\nWhat a ride! The “Hungry for 9/11 Truth” hunger strike has ended and I am on the mend. Time has come to finalize my thoughts on the event and to comment upon what I believe we have accomplished.\n\nAs of today, Monday June 16, I have had four full days of recovery and my weight has increased to 136lbs from a low of 124lbs when my fast ended. The first two days of post-fast were rough. I was in no shape to communicate with anyone and I stayed under the constant observation of my dear wife and nurse. \n\nI went to my doctor on Thursday, June 12 and received the results of my lab work, which was obtained on Day 11 of the strike. He was surprised at some of the changes in values since my pre-fast lab work-up, and confirmed that indeed my body was responding to a lack of nutrition. I will be going in for follow-up labs in another couple of weeks. He warned me of some permanent side effects that could result from the fast, most especially in my kidney and liver functions; however, I am once again feeling very healthy and expect a full recovery.\n\nLet me state that I owe a deep debt of gratitude to all those who stood with me, those near and those far away, through the seventeen days of “camping out” at Senator McCain’s Phoenix office. Special mention needs to be made to three outstanding men: John, Larry, and Rick. These fellows saw to it that I was never alone in my vigil. They each stood-up to the plate and committed themselves to my well-being and safety. Each sat for untallied hours with me, and I could not have asked for better company…you guys are the best!\n\nSecond, thanks to Tim and Craig (Phoenix 9/11Truth), who labored in bringing daily updates to the world at www.Hungry4Truth.com ,and to Drew (Tucson 9/11Truth). Republican presidential candidate John McCain was asked Thursday his opinion of an attempt to impeach President Bush. His answer shouldn't surprise anyone.\n\nIf nothing else, the fact that a question was even asked shows that McCain's campaign doesn't do as rigorous a job as President Bush's handlers do in weeding out unfriendly questioners from town hall meetings.\n\n"I appreciate this opportunity, Mr. McCain, to ask you a question," said a man attending the town hall meeting at Xavier University in Ohio. "Part one is in regards to the articles of impeachment brought up by Kucinich for Bush. What your stance is on that as far as manipulated intelligence to form the policy. And then the second is Professor Gadsby from Arizona was outside your office for sixteen days and didn't eat solid foods. I was wondering if you agreed to meet with him for the two hours he requested or does he have to be a corporate owner with multi-million dollars to meet with you."\n\nThe Republican senator laughed.\n\n"I do not agree with quote 'articles of impeachment,'" McCain said, in reference to a resolution introduced by Rep. \n\nGreetings to all who have been interested in the Hungry for 9/11 Truth hunger strike:\n\nIt’s been just over two weeks since the hunger strike ended and I’m doing very, very well. \n\nThank you again to all of you who expressed your concerns for my health and well-being. All along I was not intending to “fast unto death”, as Gandhi put it. In fact, he was not approving of such a fast except in the rarest of circumstances being that he was completely opposed to violence of any sort, and bringing death to oneself is a violent act. Instigating yet another death does no service to justice. The moral authority that comes from a hunger strike is that which observers exercise when they respond to another person’s weakening or suffering. Think how you feel, for example, when you see starving children or others in countries around the world where there is conflict or food deprivation due to natural causes (i.e. drought); these images move you to action. Either you dig into your own pocket to help, or you demand justice for oppressed people by petitioning your government. So, too, when people see someone denying him or herself food, it makes the observers uncomfortable and so they petition their leaders to take action. McCain stated that he “doesn’t take well to threats.” \n\nLet’s consider his response and what it portends for our nation.\n\nHow a hunger strike could ever be considered a “threat” is itself telling about the state of affairs we now find ourselves in in America. What could I possibly be a threat to?...myself?...the Senator?...the myth about 9/11? You decide. But to state that a person who is hunger striking is a threat of any kind reveals the distorted reality our leaders have crafted for us. What could be more real than feelings of hunger? When others witnessed my hunger and responded, they were responding to reality. There was no threat to anything in the real world except to my own health. For Senator McCain to say that I was a threat, apparently to him, means something indeed.\n\nHe has admitted, with this statement, that there is something that my hunger strike was in fact threatening to: Senator McCain’s complicity in the 9/11 cover-up. I am left with no other conclusion and/or choice but to now believe that he is part of the conspiracy to withhold from the American people the truth about 9/11. He has invested his name and political career in the myth of 9/11—the myth being that it was only angry Muslim hijackers/terrorists who are responsible for our “war on terror”.\n\nThe Xavier University website quotes him: Radical Islam is our current challenge. Americans have faced challenges before. The 20th century was called the American Century, and I believe the 21st century will also be called the American Century. I believe I can motivate young Americans to serve a cause that is greater than their own self interests.\n\nTo say that crazed Muslims are responsible for our current wars is the lie my hunger strike was the biggest threat to. So, yes, I was a threat to Senator McCain’s role in perpetuating this lie. When Richard Gage was in town the weekend of June 27 he sat down with me to make another appeal to Presidential hopeful and Arizona Senator John McCain. We implored him not to consider us a threat, but instead to consider the material we know he's received and reviewed. We hoped he would respond to the 9/11 Truth message that is reaching and influencing hundreds of thousands, indeed millions already, and soon-to-be tens of millions of people. My belief has been all along that if the good Senator confronts this information openly and honestly, the people will rally behind him. There must be individuals, in fact they are out there waiting to speak-up (eyewitnesses, insiders, those with factual knowledge of details about 9/11) who are BURSTING to speak about they know...but they can't. I believe John McCain could change that. But it would take a huge public outcry of support for him to even contemplate it. This is what is lacking.\n\nNevertheless, THE TRUTH CANNOT BE CONCEALED FOREVER!\n\nMy hope is that McCain will realize: what is the point of becoming President only to preside over a country that is so badly adrift? I cannot help but suspect that history will not judge the Presidency of George W. Bush with favor. How sad. To be made President as a result of moneyed and corporate forces isn't always the best for one's legacy. And I hope the Senator will consider this inevitability. Perhaps no single politician can realistically stand-up to these corporate forces, (See Chalmers Johnson below in a previous post) but if there's enough of a public outcry, well, just maybe.\n\nAs Richard states in this video, "...our country is at stake...and Senator McCain loves America and the 400 architects and engineers that I represent love our country...what we have found in our investigation is actually kind of shocking. It appears that all three World Trade Center high rise buildings were brought down not by airplane impacts, jet fuel, fires, but by explosive controlled demolition. It's not a matter of conjecture, it's not a matter of conspiracy theory. The evidence is rock solid. Every architect and engineer who spends a half an hour looking at the evidence agrees with us. That we have a very serious problem here with these previous investigations. (NIST, FEMA) We have a very serious problem in our country because we're concerned Al Qaeda may not have had access to these buildings to plant these explosives."\n\nI agree with you completely Richard. It is as ridiculous to expect us to believe Al Qaeda could have brought down those buildings as it is to expect us to believe the government nonsense that Arab Muslims "hate us because we are free". A Call to Action: VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR A NATION-WIDE 9/11 TRUTH HUNGER STRIKE!!\n\n\n\nEarlier this spring Phoenix 9/11 Truth organized a hunger strike out front of John McCain’s office requesting him to review information regarding the collapse of the three WTC buildings. In the end, we did not talk to McCain directly and were unable to secure the two-hour meeting we had hoped between him and Richard Gage, Steven Jones, and David Ray Griffin. We do know, however, that Richard Gage’s DVD documentary 9/11 Blueprint for Truth and David Griffin’s book 9/11 Contradictions were reviewed by him and/or his staff. This was confirmed to us in a signed letter from Senator McCain so we can confidently say that officials at the highest levels of government are aware of 9/11 Truth concerns. \n\nAt www.Hungry4Truth.com you will find a video chronicle of the 17-Day hunger strike.\n\nImpressive about the hunger strike was people’s response. Within the 9/11 Truth Phoenix group people really went the distance to make it work. Visiting me, coming to regular rallies, making phone calls to the local press and to McCain’s office both here in Phoenix and in Washington, and simply making sure that I knew I wasn’t out there by myself. I trust that any new hunger strike will find the same response from that city’s 9/11 Truth group.\n\nEven more impressive was the way the passers-by and the community who heard about the strike responded. Many were “closeted 9/11 Truthers” in that they knew the issues but didn’t know what to do about that knowledge, many others were “nearly 9/11 Truthers” in that they were almost fully educated about 9/11 Truth issues but lacked key bits of information, others still were upset for other reasons (the wars, gas prices, etc.) and were more receptive to 9/11 Truth issues than they might otherwise be. My reason for insisting on a total of at least 25 cities is to make this a national story. Hunger striking is not something to be taking lightly and I have no desire to repeat such an effort on my own or even in a small group. However, I would be willing to be part of a national effort. There needs to be spokespersons all across the country humbly, clearly, and respectfully asking their elected officials to comment on the 9/11 Truth material. \n\nWe all understand what a woefully inadequate job our mainstream media does with bringing us the facts and news that are truly significant to our lives. So, we need to push our issues into the mainstream. Since non-violence is key to getting a hearing, we need to make a BIG NON-VIOLENT STATEMENT. What better way than a strike, or strikes, and very large multi-city 9/11 hunger strike? \n\nIf we could have at each city a billboard with all of the participating cities, this would have a visual impression should the news cameras come visit.\n\nPlease know that I submit this request/appeal with the full understanding that it’s a lot to ask.
